Booking of Appointments
In
order to diagnose your condition and decide on the most appropriate
treatment plans, you would need to come for an initial consultation
and review of your history. Please bring along records of all
your past investigations, surgical operations and treatment programmes.
Once
you have contacted us, we will let you know the most suitable
time to come for consultation, based on your menstrual cycle and
what we need to do for you. If you need IVF or related programmes,
we do have an overseas protocol which will reduce the time spent
in Singapore.
Tips on Choosing Your Medical Practice
When
a couple intends to seek medical treatment, they have to decide
which medical practice to go to. They can consult the General
Practioner, OB/GYN Specialist or Infertility Specialist (Practioner
in Reproductive Medicine) who will provide investigations and
treatments according to their levels of practice.
At the first consultation,
it would be most relevant to ask for the range of services offered
by the clinic. It is important that your doctor should have
the expertise or at least have working arrangements with other
experts to provide you with various treatment options. If your
doctor offers In-Vitro Fertilization, then knowing the clinic’s
pregnancy rates would be very important in your choice.
It is also important
to know who will be your primary healthcare giver and whether
he delegates to others. Of course, without doubt, you have to
be comfortable with the clinic and the staff.
However,
as doctors sometimes do differ in their approaches to the evaluation
and treatment plans for infertility, it would make sense for
you, sometimes to seek more than one medical opinion before
deciding on your choice of doctor. This is especially so, if
you have been advised to go through costly fertility programmes
or invasive surgical procedures.
